Carbets are wooden constructions, each made up of :
• an enclosed room, with a central living area
(large table/bench, hooks for hanging hammocks); at the side is a sleeping area with three-tier bunks ;
• at the entrance to the shelters : small covered terrace with a table/bench.
The five shelters were renovated in 2015/2016.

Practical informations
There are no toilets (WC) in the carbets.
The shelters do not have running water. Rain water storage tanks were installed in 2016, but the water is not drinkable: visitors should provide their own drinking water. If you use the water from the rivers or tanks, it would be wise to make it safe for drinking by treating it with a microbial decontaminant. Otherwise, boil the water before drinking it.
The carbets are not connected to the electrical mains : take your own lighting supply (candles, torches).
The mobile telephone network operates in the shelters, or in their immediate vicinity.
The carbets are not supervised (there is no reservation system) and do not include a cleaning service : please behave responsibly and do not leave any rubbish on the site.
You will need a sleeping pad or a hammock and straps, as only wooden bunks are provided in the carbets.
Remember: the nights are cool at higher altitudes.
